Bachelor’s degree in philosophy with a minor in Spanish from the
University of Houston (UH), Houston, and an associate degree in
culinary arts from Culinary Institute LeNôtre (CIL), Houston.
why I chose CIL
I graduated UH with the intent of becoming a lawyer. After a little over a year of law
school, I knew it wouldn’t make me happy, so I quit. Determined to have a career
that made me happy, I toured a few culinary schools. I chose CIL because it’s
hands-on and has small classes.
Two-month internship with chef Arnaud Perreau at Le Quai des Dunes in
most interesting lesson
Living and working in a country with a culture and language that was not my
own was an enlightening experience. Despite all the differences, the teamwork
and dedication necessary to run a successful restaurant is the same no matter
where you are.
I want to continue to broaden my culinary knowledge and focus on healthy food.
